Photo Monday: Philanthropy in Action
ByThis is an amazing instrument. Just marvel at the craftsmanship and beauty of the Steinway Model D piano. This week Kansas State University announced that they have become an “All-Steinway” institution through the generous contribution of an alum.
All–Steinway Schools demonstrate a commitment to excellence by providing their students and faculties with the best equipment possible for the study of music. That is why the only pianos owned by the institutions listed here — from the practice room to the recital hall — are Designed by Steinway & Sons.
What’s even more amazing is that the purchase of the Steinways was made possible by the generous gift of K-State Alum, Mark Chapman. Sadly, Mark passed away last month before the project was completed, but he would be proud. And the major gift officers responsible for building and maintaining the connection with Mark should also be proud. They demonstrated persistence, vision, leadership, and creativity. You can read more about it here.
How you significantly advance your mission isn’t hard or complicated. Focus on your donors and their dreams and amazing things (like a bunch of Steinways) can happen.
I’m looking forward to hearing one of these pianos in concert soon!
