Here’s my first gallery from a very recent stay in Köln (Cologne in English). I had a fantastic time visiting a bunch of Christmas Markets, a German tradition that I hadn’t known about before. This gallery is from my first to days.
My son Helge.
Helge’s temporary apartment. Nice!
Inside the cathedral.
I swear that every resident in Köln was out walking through the streets every night. That and drinking Glühwein or Kölsch.
The Christmas Markets were PACKED.
The holiday lights were fantastic.
This was my favorite lighting display.
It’d be great if this caught on in the U.S. These are simple paper stars that fold up flat.
A chocolate gift shop. Inside the Chocolate Museum. Just settle down people. There’s enough for everyone!
Fries and curriewurst. One of my new favorites.
Taking a river cruise is on the list.

Köln is one of my favorite German cities …. anytime of the year – and there is nothing like the German Christmas Markets … the German beers are suppose to be very good. I’m a bit envy. Great gallery. I can see you enjoyed yourself in the right way. *smile
I had an awesome time. I have always wanted to see Germany during the holiday season and it didn’t disappoint! So many Koelsch varieties and so little time!
Germany is fantastic … to visit during the festivale season, just because of all their markets and lights. Köln is a brilliant city the year around.
I wish you A Happy New Year – Gott Nytt År!
