Have you ever…?
ByHave you ever asked for an autograph from a race car driver or movie star?
I’m not into collecting autographs of famous people I meet. I’ve only asked for a few, that I can remember. A race car driver or two and a couple of Indiana basketball players. (Plus the one in the photo.) What about you? Do you collect autographs? Why or why not?
Clay — since I now work for Apple, I must say this is one autograph I definitely would have gotten! I am not some one who collects autographs..only a few… Maya Angelou, Jane Goodall, Mickey Rooney, and .. Yes…Steve Jobs! What I think is important to consider when getting an autograph is setting. I will not approach someone put of the blue, but if the setting is for autographs and is is one I personally want I will peruse it. Cool one on Steve Wosniak!
That’s exactly my approach. I once rode an elevator at the Speedway with the King (Richard Petty for those of you who don’t know) and my mom got so giddy she hugged him without asking. No way was I going to get an autograph then. But I regretted it later. Sigh.
General I have not either, though not that I have had a lot of exposure. However I would sure like to have Itzhak Perlman sign my daughters violin when he is in town this spring.
Maybe that can be arranged?
